Sconto privacy policy
Sconto is a Shopify app for discounts, bundles, free gifts and checkout rules. It is developed and operated by Ronce Studio (“Ronce”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what information Sconto processes, why, and your choices.
Sconto is built so that personal information stays inside Shopify. We do not run a database, we do not store customer information on our own systems, and we never sell or share personal information.
Information about merchants
When you install and use Sconto, we process:
- Store details from Shopify: shop domain, store currency, time zone and Shopify plan, to run the app and show which features your store supports.
- Staff session details: Shopify's signed session token (shop and staff user ID) to verify each request. It is checked and discarded; we don't store it.
- Your Sconto plan from Shopify's app billing, to enable the features you pay for.
- Your settings: campaigns, rules, bundles and widget settings. These are saved in your own Shopify store as app data, not on our systems.
Information about your customers
To decide whether a discount or rule applies, Sconto's discount and checkout functions read the following while a customer shops. They run inside Shopify's infrastructure and return only the discount or rule result. This information is never sent to or stored by us.
| Information | Why |
|---|---|
| Customer ID, customer tags, logged-in status | Conditions such as “VIP customers” or “specific customers” |
| Number of orders and total amount spent | Conditions such as “first order” or “spent at least 500” |
| B2B company and company location | Wholesale and B2B conditions |
| Custom data you add to customers (discount_engine.attributes) | Custom data conditions you set up |
| Shipping country, state or province, ZIP or postal code, and address lines | Location conditions and PO box detection |
| Cart contents, entered discount codes, market, currency and POS location | Calculating discounts and applying rules |
We do not access customer names, email addresses or phone numbers. If you enter customer IDs or tags in a campaign's conditions, they are saved with that campaign in your Shopify store.
Storefront
Sconto's storefront widgets read the current cart to show progress bars, gift pickers and similar features. They use the browser's session storage only to remember display choices during a visit (for example, that a pop-up was closed). Sconto sets no cookies and does not track visitors.
How we use information
We use the information above only to provide Sconto's features: applying discounts and rules, showing widgets, and enabling the features of your plan. We don't use it for advertising, profiling, analytics or marketing, and we don't sell it.
Service providers
- Shopify hosts your store, your Sconto settings and Sconto's discount and checkout functions.
- Cloudflare hosts the Sconto admin app and its API. It processes requests from your Shopify admin, which contain your settings but no customer names, emails, phone numbers or addresses. Cloudflare keeps short-lived request logs as part of its service.
These providers may process information in countries other than yours.
Retention and deletion
We don't keep copies of your data. Your settings live in your Shopify store until you change or delete them, and Shopify removes app data when Sconto is uninstalled. Sconto receives Shopify's privacy requests (customer data requests, customer deletion and store deletion); because we hold no copies, there is nothing further for us to export or delete. Backup files you download from Sconto are stored by you.
Security
All traffic uses HTTPS. Requests are verified with Shopify's signed session tokens and webhook signatures, and access to Sconto's accounts is protected with two-factor authentication.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal information, including under the GDPR and CCPA. Customers of a store should contact the store first. Merchants and customers can also contact us, and we will help or forward the request to the merchant.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and change the effective date above.
